Pacific Model United Nations was established in 2014. With the assistance and leadership of fellow MUN enthusiasts, PACMUN quickly soared to prominence as the largest conference and the only overnight conference in Washington State. PACMUN kickstarted a community; out of it came a circuit of student-run conferences tailored for delegates at every age and skill level, so we created Model United Nations Northwest to help manage it.
Not only has our work fostered a love for community development and collaboration among many of our future leaders and innovators, but it demonstrates how important and powerful Model UN is in this community as a force that encourages our young people to positively impact others. We aim to spread awareness of the United Nations, to motivate students to become more actively involved in local and global affairs, and to inspire students to change the world. In short, we aim to empower students leaders in our communities.
PACMUN and Model United Nations Northwest exist largely on the part of Vivek Ramachandran. Without his and his family's dedication to developing the Pacific Northwest Model United Nations community, PACMUN would not be alive today.
